Lucas Guy Taylor
Lucas Guy Taylor is an independent filmmaker based in Chicago, IL. He recently earned his M.F.A. in Screenwriting from DePaul University's College of Digital Media. In 2016, he co-founded BBF Productions with filmmaker, Marissa Lessman. Together, they have served as Associate Producers on "Phil," a feature film written by Marissa. The pair has also written, directed, and produced two shorts "Captain", "Chair" and "Close" in that time. By the end of 2019, he wrote and directed his first feature film, "BREAK." In his spare time, Taylor enjoys reading Green Arrow comics with his two cats, Bug and Willoughby. He also hosts a weekly film podcast called Bad Movie Brunch with fellow DePaul alum, Katie Grotzinger.

BREAK is a romantic look at life, love, and sweet summertime through the lens of two high-school kids on the brink of adulthood. AG, a pragmatic introvert, is forced to leave the big city and return to his old hometown in the rural midwest. Sparks fly when he reunites with his idealistic childhood pal MARLI. They spend their vacation at the local roller rink, getting buzzed and getting into trouble as the dog days of summer melt away. But what happens when summer ends?
The film was written, produced, and partially filmed in Chicago, IL. Shots of the skyline, Montrose Beach, Loyola Beach, and the streets of Rogers Park are featured in the movie at the beginning and end of the film. Every member of the cast and crew live in Chicago. The Director, the producers, the director of photography, and the editor are DePaul University graduates. The director has lived in Rogers Park and worked within the community at The New 400 Theaters for years.
